Community Data

Who has good examples of community-curated or -generated data in Scotland.

Air Aberdeen might be one.

What about some of Wiki-data sets that have arisen from CTC events?

OpenStreetMap should be regarded as a database rather than just a map. It has highly detailed location data on Scotland e.g. Ayrshire College Ayr Campus. I am a Director of OSMUK and there is a strong OSM Alba community based in Edinburgh. I would encourage building links (human and wiki) with those communities rather than replicating efforts Jez Nicholson (talk) 09:42, 21 September 2020 (BST)
Mapillary are building a database of street-level photography which is released as Open Data. They were bought by Facebook in 2020, the data remains open. e.g. Aberdeenshire Jez Nicholson (talk) 09:42, 21 September 2020 (BST)

I added a couple of Wikidata datasets starter-for-ten at referencing useful Wikidata hosted data about Scotland.

is UK Oil and Gas Authority in the Private Sector?

Is the UK Oil and Gas Authority really a Private Sector organisation? Do you need another classification for the quango-ish like the Ordnance Survey? Jez Nicholson (talk) 09:44, 21 September 2020 (BST)
